From the Highlands to Your Glass
Brief introduction to the tequila-making journey
Our agave thrives in the 20,000-year-old volcanic soil of Jalisco’s highlands. This rare combination of climate, altitude, and soil produces the best agave, ensuring our tequila is truly natural and clean.
Highlands of Jalisco
Why the Highlands?
Our agave thrives in the 20,000-year-old volcanic soil of Jalisco’s highlands. This rare combination of climate, altitude, and soil produces the best agave, ensuring our tequila is truly natural and clean.
Blue Weber Agave
We use only fully matured Blue Weber Agave, harvested after 8 years. Maturity is crucial for developing rich flavors, and Blue Weber is renowned for its superior quality.

Hand-Cut Agave
Hand-Cut with Precision
Our agave is meticulously hand-cut by skilled Jimadores using traditional coa tools. This method preserves the integrity of each plant, unlike mechanical harvesting which can damage the agave.
Slow Roasted Piñas
Slow Roasting for Depth
The piñas are slow roasted for 40 hours in traditional stove ovens, enhancing the natural sweetness and complexity of our tequila. This extended roasting process sets us apart from brands that shorten or alter this critical step.
Milling
Shredding the Agave
Cooked agave is shredded to allow yeast to access the rich sugars buried deep within. This step is vital for fermentation, ensuring a robust and clean tequila.
Fermentation
Natural Fermentation
The resulting agua miel, or sugar water, is mixed with a special yeast strain. This natural fermentation process converts agave sugars into alcohol, laying the foundation for our authentic tequila.
Distillation
Twice Distilled to Perfection
Guided by our Female Master Distiller, our tequila is twice distilled in small copper pot stills. Twice distillation purifies the spirit, while copper pots remove impurities, resulting in a smoother, cleaner tequila.
Oxygenation
Balancing the Spirit
Oxygenation breaks up larger alcohol molecules, creating a velvety, balanced texture with no burn. This process is applied to all our expressions, enhancing their smoothness and depth.
aging
Aging to Perfection
The length and quality of our aging process ensure each bottle of El Bandido Yankee Tequila delivers unparalleled smoothness and character.
